Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Global Commissioning Operations Manager to join our team at Equinix, Inc. This role is responsible for leading the commissioning operations across multiple data centers globally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Management: Strong time management skills to oversee multiple projects simultaneously across different countries and time zones.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication with business operations and construction managers.
  • Negotiation and Issue Resolution: Strong negotiation skills to resolve project issues between teams and provide guidance for issue resolutions.
  • Commissioning Plan Development: Creates and implements multi-facility, standards-based commissioning plans and schedules.
  • Pipeline Management: Responsible for regional, short- to medium-term pipeline management to inform resource planning.
  • Budget Input: Provides input into the project budget for all commissioning-related activities.
Customer-Facing Reports:
  • Progress Reporting: Interacts with and presents to key customers on progress against commissioning plans and achievement of Ready for Service (RFS) dates.
  • Customer Escalations: Acts as point of contact for customer escalations throughout the commissioning process.
Process Management:
  • Commissioning Processes: Follows all commissioning processes and escalates any potential improvements to senior management.
  • Standardization: Develops standardized schedules and commissioning scopes based on specific customer contract requirements.
  • Harmonization: Works to help harmonize the commissioning approach between global regions and new acquisitions.
  • Progress Reporting: Responsible for all internal and external progress reporting for all projects during the commissioning phase.
Vendor Management:
  • RFP Production: Produces project-specific commissioning RFPs and responds to bid clarifications.
  • Vendor Evaluation: Recommends commissioning consultant award.
  • Lessons Learned: Determines vendor KPIs and conducts lessons learned.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Extensive experience in data center commissioning is preferred.
  • Leadership: Leadership experience in a mission-critical environment.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Automation Engineering preferred.
  • Languages: Advanced fluent Spanish and English is a must.
