Key Responsibilities:
- Incident Management: Handle and resolve technical incidents, alerts, and service requests in a timely and efficient manner.
- SAP Landscape Management: Plan, set up, implement, and operate SAP technologies to achieve ambitious service level agreements (SLAs).
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to ensure the optimal performance of SAP systems.
- Server Landscape Design: Conceptualize, configure, and administer server landscapes with a focus on Linux operating systems.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve hardware, OS, application, and database-related issues that impact business operations.
- Operations Management: Ensure high availability of SAP systems and manage daily operations to maintain optimal performance.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Properly document technical operational concepts and guidelines for implemented SAP landscapes and share knowledge with the team.
- International Collaboration: Coordinate with international teams on global projects, crisis handling, and de-escalation initiatives.
- Specialization: Cross-train in all topic areas (Basis/application, OS, and Database) and specialize in one area, owning incident and service request closure end-to-end.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a reputable institution.
- Experience: 6-9 years of work experience in Linux administration, with a strong background in IT services.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in network services like DNS, LDAP, Samba, sFTP, Sendmail, and Postfix. Experience with at least one public cloud service provider (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud Platform).
- Scripting and Automation: Familiarity with scripting languages (Shell, Perl, Python, Go, or similar) and automation technologies (Chef).
- Virtualization and Monitoring: Experience with virtualization (XEN, VMware) and OS monitoring, backup/restore, and configuration automation.
- International Environment: Ability to work effectively in an international environment, collaborating with virtual teams.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Capability to create technical documentation and knowledge-based assets (KBAs).
- Continuous Learning: Ability to continuously acquire new knowledge proactively and independently.
- Analytical and Solution-Oriented Thinking: Strong analytical and solution-oriented thinking skills.
- Basic Knowledge: Basic knowledge in network and storage concepts, as well as one or more of the following products: Content Server, Convergent Charging, MDM, GK Software, OpenText, SAP Cloud Connector, TOMCAT, IIS, IDM, SCM Optimizer, SAP Mobile Platform, TREX, Business Connector.
- Preferred Skills: Working knowledge in Business Object Products (BOBI, BODS, etc.) and UNIX/Linux environment, HANA DB, and Sybase ASE databases.
