Position Summary: The Logistics Manager is accountable for overseeing logistics operations at the Reynosa Plant and providing support to third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse sites that cater to both internal and external clients for North American Operations. Key responsibilities include managing daily warehouse functions, supervising international shipments, and ensuring optimal kanban stocking levels, as well as effective storage and inventory space management. The Logistics Manager will also track and maintain logistics performance metrics for the Reynosa Plant, which encompass On-Time In-Full Delivery, Shipping & Receiving Efficiency, Cycle Count Accuracy, Inventory Turns, and management of Excess and Obsolete Materials. This role necessitates close collaboration with Landis+Gyr team members across various locations in the U.S. and external transportation partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee logistics and distribution operations for the Reynosa Plant and manage 3PL warehouse sites.
  • Coordinate milk runs and kanban inventories to ensure seamless replenishment to the plant.
  • Supervise the receipt of both direct and indirect materials.
  • Manage the Import/Export Department effectively.
  • Ensure accurate data management in SAP concerning receiving, storage, and final product transfer areas.
  • Facilitate the shipment of finished products and Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) to customers.
  • Monitor and resolve issues related to customer shipments.
  • Maintain physical inventory at the Reynosa Plant and 3PL warehouses.
  • Report on critical metrics such as On-Time In-Full Delivery, Shipping & Receiving Efficiency, Cycle Count Accuracy, Inventory Turns, and management of Excess and Obsolete Materials.
  • Conduct physical inventory counts and reconcile with data storage systems to control inventory levels.
  • Enhance the physical condition of the warehouse by planning and implementing new layout designs, inspecting equipment, and issuing work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacements.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions through internal audits or inventory analysis and actively participate in logistics continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure proper training for personnel involved in logistics, distribution, importation, and exportation.
  • Oversee the use and maintenance of forklifts.
  • Adhere to the Integrated Management System (I.M.S.), which includes ISO 9001, 18001, 14001, 27001, and 22301 standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of managerial experience.
  • Extensive experience in warehouse management is essential.
  • Proven ability to support high-speed, 24/7 operations.
  • Experience with SAP Warehouse Management System (WMS) and scanning processes in end-to-end Integrated Supply Chain Management.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management and control, including kanban systems, kiting, supermarkets, milk runs, and drip delivery.
  • Experience with Plan for Every Part (PFEP).
  • Familiarity with international shipments across South America, Asia Pacific, and Europe.
  • Understanding of various incoterms (EXW, DDP, FOB, CIF) related to shipments.
  • Competence in logistics, traffic, and inventory analysis.
  • APICS/ASCM certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (Green or Black belt preferred).
  • Proficiency in ERP systems.
  • Fluent in English (85%) to communicate effectively at all levels.
