Position Summary: The Logistics Manager is tasked with overseeing logistics operations at the Reynosa Plant and providing support to third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse sites that cater to both internal and external clients for North American Operations. Key responsibilities include managing daily warehouse functions, supervising international shipments, monitoring kanban inventory levels, and managing storage and inventory space. This role also involves assisting in the recruitment and training of personnel as necessary. The Logistics Manager will be responsible for maintaining essential warehouse and logistics metrics for the Reynosa Plant, including On-Time In-Full Delivery, Shipping & Receiving Efficiency, Cycle Count Accuracy, Inventory Turns, and management of Excess and Obsolete Materials. This position requires close collaboration with Landis+Gyr team members across various locations in the United States and with external transportation providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee 3PL warehouse operations, logistics, and distribution for the Reynosa Plant.
  • Manage milk runs and kanban inventories to ensure seamless replenishment to the plant.
  • Supervise the receipt of both direct and indirect materials.
  • Lead the Import/Export Department.
  • Ensure accurate data management in SAP for receiving, storage, and final product transfer areas.
  • Coordinate the shipment of finished products and return merchandise authorizations (RMAs) to customers.
  • Track and resolve issues related to customer shipments.
  • Maintain physical inventory at the Reynosa Plant and 3PL warehouses.
  • Report on key metrics such as On-Time In-Full Delivery, Shipping & Receiving Efficiency, Cycle Count Accuracy, Inventory Turns, and management of Excess and Obsolete Materials.
  • Control inventory levels through physical counts and reconciliation with data storage systems.
  • Enhance the physical condition of the warehouse by planning and implementing new layout designs, inspecting equipment, and issuing work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacements.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions through internal audits or inventory analysis and actively participate in logistics continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure proper training for personnel in logistics, distribution, importation, and exportation.
  • Oversee the use and maintenance of forklifts.
  • Adhere to the Integrated Management System (I.M.S.), which encompasses ISO 9001, 18001, 14001, 27001, and 22301 standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of managerial experience.
  • Extensive experience in warehouse management is essential.
  • Experience supporting high-speed, 24/7 operations.
  • Proficiency in SAP WMS, particularly in scanning processes within the end-to-end integrated supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management and control, including kanban systems, kiting, supermarkets, milk runs, and drip delivery.
  • Experience with PFEP (Plan for Every Part).
  • Familiarity with international shipments across South America, Asia Pacific, and Europe.
  • Knowledge of various incoterms (EXW, DDP, FOB, CIF) for shipments.
  • Expertise in logistics, traffic, and inventory analysis.
  • APICS/ASCM certification is preferred.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles (Green or Black belt preferred).
  • Proficient in ERP systems.
  • Fluent in English (85%) to effectively communicate at all levels.
