You will take pride in fostering a culture that prioritizes safety and minimizes environmental impact. Your role will ensure that Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives are effectively executed and comply with applicable standards and regulations within the facility. This includes maintaining operational excellence, implementing necessary regulations and procedures, conducting hazard assessments, and minimizing accidents caused by unsafe practices and conditions, while also reducing energy consumption and waste generation.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Lead and support the cultural shift towards HSE excellence to achieve a target of zero accidents and incidents. Oversee the coordination and execution of all Health & Safety programs and protocols. Engage in investigations to ensure timely resolution of identified non-conformities. Provide expert guidance on Health and Safety matters for all new initiatives and change management processes. Track non-conformities and develop systems to address them through root cause analysis. Maintain a current incident reporting system, assist in incident investigations alongside the HSE team and safety committee, and ensure corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence. Create technical guidance programs aimed at identifying and mitigating physical hazards.Qualifications
A strong commitment to advancing your career and driving positive change. You will bring expertise and experience in:
Environmental Health and Safety practices. Completion of training in Environmental Health and Safety, including OSHA, EPA, and DNREC. Familiarity with safety and environmental technical standards. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all organizational levels. Knowledge of regulatory compliance and reporting, including experience with ISO standards.Additional Role Insights:
Key Information About the Position:
Monitoring legal requirements and business continuity. Participation in accident reporting and investigations. Responsible for managing the HSE system. Budget management responsibilities. Coordination of governmental visits. Knowledge in Process Safety. Expertise in managing new projects and change processes. Maintaining HS&E work standards and KPIs. Providing support and guidance for internal training needs related to HSE regulations.Education / Certifications:
Degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.Specific Job Requirements:
Experience in team management. Emergency response capabilities. Knowledge of process safety (including explosive powders, flammable chemicals, fire prevention, and electrical safety). Understanding of environmental, health, and safety legislation. Personal safety practices such as LOTO, risk analysis, and ergonomics.Work Schedule:
