Job Purpose
BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is in search of a dynamic and results-oriented individual to fulfill the role of Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in Power Electronics. In this position, under the direct supervision of the Power Electronics Mechanical Engineering Manager, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for supporting the mechanical design of Hybrid and Electric Inverter and Converter Systems for various global automotive clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct mechanical design for Hybrid and Electric Inverter and Converter Systems.
  • Oversee powertrain, driveline, and packaging of electronics and circuit boards.
  • Design mechanical components in accordance with the BorgWarner Bill of Design.
  • Ensure product and component designs meet customer specifications.
  • Perform mechanical analysis and verification, including:
    • Thermal Management
    • Vibration Capability
    • Thermal Shock
    • Tolerance Stack
  • Document designs as required.
  • Develop and collaborate with the supply base to support program needs and purchasing initiatives.
  • Engage with customers as necessary.
  • Deliver written and oral presentations as required.
  • Employ a structured problem-solving approach to address issues.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical hardware design.
  • Experience in automotive electronics is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with automotive environmental and durability requirements.
  • Proficiency in NX or similar CAD applications.
  • Experience with analysis tools is preferred.
