**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement manufacturing welding processes and equipment to ensure efficient and economical production of assigned parts.
- Coordinate with technical staff to provide processes and equipment needed to support the manufacturing operation.
- Assignments include tool design, manufacturing processing, cost estimating, systems planning, and standards development.
- Coordinate the installation of new machines and equipment and process changes to provide the most efficient and economical manufacture or assembly of quality parts.
- Ensure optimum utilization of equipment and space by coordinating the layout of areas such as storage areas, test equipment, etc.
- Coordinate release dates and availability of machines and equipment and material to maintain schedules and satisfy demand.
- Establish standards and work with shop personnel to resolve problems related to process, tooling, equipment, etc.
- Ensure implementation of modern technology and follow up to determine effectiveness of equipment and systems.
- Coordinate capital projects for process enhancement and to improve customer satisfaction, conducting research and ensuring proper approvals.
- Keep abreast of industry changes by attending product demonstrations and identify ongoing improvements in processes and technologies to better serve customers.
**Requirements**
- Supervises or manages a work unit of primarily management and salaried employees.
- Planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reviewing work of subordinates is required.
