Position: Special Education Instructor (Emotional Support)
Salary Range: $56,493 - $74,343

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in special education or a related discipline; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid and current Pennsylvania special education certification.
  • Clearances for criminal history and child abuse (Acts 34, 151, and FBI).
  • Capability to fulfill essential job responsibilities effectively, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Flexibility to adapt qualifications and responsibilities as determined by the administration.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to enhance the educational experience and facilitate smooth school operations.
  • Work with administration, staff, and families to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and meet special education requirements.
  • Engage in and contribute to the overall school program.
  • Demonstrate reliability and punctuality in duties, attendance at meetings, and the maintenance of equipment and facilities.
  • Exhibit positive personal attributes, including neatness, integrity, character, good citizenship, respect for others, honesty, and responsibility, serving as a role model for students.
  • Comply with the Pennsylvania School Code and the terms outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Enforce school regulations, administrative policies, and Board directives.
  • Maintain open communication with administrators, parents, students, staff, and the community.
  • Participate in curriculum evaluation and redesign as necessary for the department, subject area, or grade level.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance job-related skills.
  • Incorporate the principles and expectations of the Teacher Expectations, Evaluation, and Development plan into professional objectives.
  • Understand the foundational framework for developing instructional programs and strive to achieve educational goals.
  • Complete all required documentation and reports within specified timelines.
  • Utilize diverse instructional methods to achieve lesson objectives and provide students with opportunities that extend beyond the classroom.
  • Assess and evaluate student abilities and progress to develop effective instructional strategies, providing timely feedback.
  • Employ appropriate technological tools relevant to the curriculum.
  • Demonstrate understanding and concern for each student's educational needs.
