Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Manager to join our team at Transplace. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing carrier relationships and performance, as well as providing analytical support to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate carrier compliance, tender acceptance, on-time service, and visibility at the weekly, monthly, and quarterly level.
  • Analyze bid compliance by comparing actual results to bid responses.
  • Evaluate costs outside of annual contracted rates.
  • Provide support to operations teams to review KPIs, manage carrier performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate meetings with external carriers and assist with onboarding and EDI/Carrier Portal setup.

Internal Analytical Support

As a Transportation Manager, you will also provide analytical support to drive business growth. This includes:

  • Analyzing customer data to identify cost-effective solutions.
  • Examining bid and spot freight data to determine if sourcing is required.

Procurement Support

You will also play a key role in procurement support, including:

  • Supporting the end-to-end strategy and execution of transportation procurement events (RFPs) and mini-bids.
  • Recommending new carriers based on data analysis and knowledge of the shipper's network and transportation market.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of transportation management systems and processes.
