The Role: As our Quality Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the Total Quality Management (TQM) system, encompassing both Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA). You will ensure compliance with industry regulations and certifications, including FSSC22000, USDA Organic, and Sagarpa Orgánico.

You will lead the Analytical Development Function, managing laboratory operations to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of testing methods. Additionally, you will oversee the development and validation of raw materials and products.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and improve quality standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations and certifications.
  • Lead the implementation, updating, and upgrading of Birdman's Quality Systems to meet the highest benchmarks of quality and safety.
  • Oversee QA/QC activities to ensure product integrity from development through production.
  • Manage laboratory and analytical development operations, including the development of analytical methods and standardized testing.
  • Develop and execute continuous improvement methods to enhance Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA).
  • Establish raw material, product, and process specifications to align with customer needs and stakeholder expectations.
  • Validate processes to ensure compliance with defined specifications.
  • Guarantee legal and regulatory compliance, including obtaining and renewing operational permits and product classifications.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance in communications, maintaining transparency with consumers.
  • Lead Birdman's Environmental and Occupational Safety department, ensuring compliance with best practices and fostering a safe work environment.
  • Manage complaints systems, conducting root cause analyses to prevent non-compliant products and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Team leadership, developing and mentoring a high-performing quality team to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Steward product development, working closely with the product development team to identify and resolve deviations from quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Educational background: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's Degree in Quality Systems is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in manufacturing within the supplements, food, cosmetics, or pharmaceutical industries. At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role as a Quality Manager in one of these industries.
  • Quality Systems Expertise: Proven experience managing Quality Management Systems (QMS) and successfully renewing FSSC22000 certifications.
  • Certifications: FSSC22000 auditor certification is required. Experience with USDA Organic, Kosher, Halal, COFEPRIS GMP, and FDA FSMA certifications is a must.
  • Laboratory and Analytical Methods: Knowledge of laboratory management and the development and execution of analytical methods.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Mexican regulations (COFEPRIS) and international regulations regarding food and dietary supplements.
  • Leadership And Cultural Fit: Proven ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience.
