Senior Financial Analyst, Marketing Finance & Strategy

The Finance & Strategy teams act as essential partners within the organization, providing valuable insights and guidance for executive decision-making through comprehensive analyses and strategic collaboration. This position will closely collaborate with Marketing teams, offering extensive exposure to various leaders and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess robust financial modeling and forecasting capabilities, outstanding communication skills, and a keen eye for detail, while effectively managing priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage actively in cross-functional Marketing initiatives, providing strategic advice, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring the Finance team is informed of key developments.
  • Utilize financial modeling and advanced analytics to enhance Zendesk's understanding of its Marketing organization, assessing the value delivered and identifying opportunities for enhancement.
  • Support effective decision-making by preparing financial summaries and clearly communicating insights through presentations.
  • Oversee financial operations related to a marketing planning tool known as Allocadia.
  • Execute essential tasks related to month-end financial closing, forecasting, and the preparation of management reports on financial performance.
  • Act as the primary Finance & Strategy contact and approver for critical processes, including purchase requisition approvals and hiring requisition submissions.
  • Address new and evolving priorities for the team, including ad hoc analyses as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Business, Finance, or Accounting.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, investment banking, consulting, private equity, or a related field.
  • Exceptional proficiency in MS Excel and Google Workspace (GSheets, GSlides) is required.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to quickly identify and resolve data-related issues.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and convey information across teams; comfortable presenting to senior executives.
  • Strong emotional intelligence, experience collaborating across matrixed organizations, and a commitment to building meaningful business relationships.
  • Experience with financial planning systems is highly preferred; familiarity with Adaptive is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL is advantageous.

This role requires attendance at the local office part of the week, with the specific in-office schedule to be determined by the hiring manager.
