As a Failure Analysis Technician II at Jabil Circuit, you will play a critical role in investigating component, manufacturing, and field return issues through prompt and effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough investigations of component and manufacturing issues to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Operate specialized Failure Analysis equipment and techniques to analyze electronic circuit board assemblies.
- Develop and master grinding and polishing skills to diagnose and repair components to the highest level of quality.
- Contribute to the flow, management, and disposition of Material Review Board (MRB) material.
- Diagnose and repair electronic circuit board assemblies to component level while maintaining minimal quantities of Engineering and Component hold assemblies.
- Monitor components reject levels and respond to issues accordingly.
- Report technical information concerning component and manufacturing failures to Failure Analysis Engineers.
- Assist in implementing proactive measures to foster productivity and higher product yields while reducing economic loss.
- Assist engineers in responding to production line problems immediately and addressing boards on component hold.
- Monitor the storage and handling of moisture-sensitive components, shock-sensitive devices, and fiber optic components.
- Understand and utilize assembly documentation, including schematics, BOMs, EC documents, visuals, debug, testing tools, and procedures.
- Assist Test Engineering in an ongoing data evaluation program for improving the efficiency of diagnosis of assemblies.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and datasheets.
- Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.
- Effective presentation skills to communicate with Jabil's Engineering departments.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts, including probability and statistical inference.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil's software packages.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and read and understand visual aids.
