About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our team at Venafi, a leading provider of machine identity management solutions. As an Accounting Supervisor, you will play a critical role in the daily operations of our accounting team, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions and reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the monthly close process for the Bulgarian entity, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the consolidated monthly close of the Venafi foreign entities, including preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and analysis of financial data.
  • Assist with purchase requisitions, invoice coding, and expense reimbursement approvals in Concur.
  • Prepare monthly accruals for accounts payable and other liabilities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Perform bank reconciliations for US and international bank accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Assist with external financial audits, providing support and guidance to auditors as needed.
  • Assist with statutory audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and providing accurate financial information.
  • Perform VAT filings for international entities, ensuring timely and accurate compliance with tax regulations.
  • Prepare the weekly payment run for the Bulgarian entity, ensuring accurate and timely financial transactions.
  • Review the monthly international payroll submissions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Manage a small team as/if we expand the accounting team in Bulgaria, providing guidance and support to team members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience in accounting and finance.
  • Solid and relevant education credentials, including a degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Good communication skills and an upbeat disposition, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Flexibility to interact with US-based manager and teammates, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, curiosity, and self-motivation, with the ability to perform projects with minimal oversight.
  • The ability to perform projects with minimal oversight, with a passion for improving current processes and procedures.
  • Solid quantitative skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis.
  • The ability to manage a team, with experience in team leadership and management.
  • Ability to be onsite in the Venafi Sofia office 5 days a week, with flexibility to work remotely as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with NetSuite, Coupa, and Concur, with a strong understanding of financial systems and processes.
