Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our team at Birlasoft. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Oracle databases across production, testing, and staging environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and optimize SQL/PLSQL processes to ensure efficient database performance.
  • Ensure database availability and proactively manage security standards and controls.
  • Actively seek to optimize and simplify database architecture.
  • Take ownership of performance and capacity monitoring aspects of the database.
  • Execute data migration jobs and scripts as required.
  • Assist the infrastructure team in sizing hardware used for the database.
  • Support and collaborate with product developers to ensure seamless database integration.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of disaster recovery plans.
  • Create a reliable backup strategy and ensure database backups are executed and restored periodically.
  • Determine and document database policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform performance testing and evaluation to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks and deadlock issues.
  • Ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator with a strong background in Oracle databases.
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL/PLSQL and database administration principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
