AWS Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced AWS Database Administrator to join our team at Nuvit Service. As a key member of our data management team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and secure database solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Design and Implementation: Design and implement highly available and performant database architectures on AWS, ensuring optimal data storage and retrieval.
  • Database Maintenance and Upgrade: Perform regular database upgrades, patches, and maintenance tasks to ensure the database is running with the latest features and security patches.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize queries, indexes, and configuration to ensure optimal speed and efficiency.
  • Data Security: Implement and maintain robust data security measures, including authentication, authorization, data encryption, and access controls.
  • Backup and Recovery: Develop and implement comprehensive backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability in the event of failures.
  • User and Permissions Management: Manage user access, roles, and permissions to ensure only authorized individuals have access to sensitive data.
  • Data Loading and Extraction: Manage data loading and extraction from and to external sources, ensuring data consistency and quality.
  • Space Management: Monitor disk space usage, optimize data allocation, and minimize storage costs.
  • Automation: Develop scripts and use automation tools to streamline tasks, such as backups, restores, and configuration adjustments.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development teams, data analysts, and other departments to ensure database solutions meet organizational needs.
  • Architecture Evolution: Evaluate and propose changes to database architecture as business needs evolve, ensuring a scalable and efficient infrastructure.
  • Documentation and Training: Maintain detailed documentation on configuration, processes, and solutions to common problems, and provide training to other team members as needed.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of overall industry experience.
  • 2 years of experience with AWS.
  • 1 year of experience with Amazon Redshift.
  • 5+ years of Database design, management, and maintenance experience.
  • Experience designing and provisioning databases in AWS.
  • Experience in Database Query Performance and fine-tuning.
