CEMEX is seeking a highly skilled Automation Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our electrical and automation engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with CEMEX automation engineering guidelines, design criteria, specifications, and standards during the development and execution of projects worldwide.
Main Responsibilities- Coordinate and manage the development and delivery of automation engineering projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to master schedules.
- Participate in project startup and stabilization, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Active participation in projects and studies, including proposal development for automation-related equipment sizing and selection, as well as PLC and SCADA application programming.
- Support the construction team during project execution, startup, and commissioning, providing effective solutions to ensure cost, quality, and execution time.
- Participate in the evaluation of global Electrical & Automation installation technologies and equipment suppliers to maintain CEMEX standards.
Level of Education: Master's degree in Automation Control or related field, or equivalent experience in PLC/HMI selection and programming.
Area of Study: Administration, Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering.
Knowledge Requirements:
- Automation equipment selection, control and instrumentation engineering revision.
- Cement and Concrete Production knowledge.
- Proficiency in PC programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others.
- Specify Knowledge: CAD, AutoCad, PLC programming software (Schneider Unity, AB Studio 5000, Siemens TIA portal/Step7), SCADA programming software (Schneider Vijeo Citect, Hybrid DCS, FLSA ECS, AB Factory Talk, Emerson Delta V), Field HMI programming development (Schneider Magellis Vijeo Designer, AB Panel View Fact Talk, Siemens WinCC/TIA).
Spanish native desirable, English 90%.
Experience: 1 year experience in Cement and/or mining related projects/equipment/commissioning experience, 3 years experience in Automation Engineering projects.
General Knowledge: General knowledge of cement, ready-mix, and aggregate industry-related equipment and installations, general knowledge of engineering and projects process development.
Good knowledge on PLC/SCADA/HMI programming, good knowledge on automation-related engineering like control system architecture, PI&D diagrams, machine control schematics, functional descriptions, and instrumentation.
Good knowledge on automation-related systems equipment selection, like PLC/IO hardware and software, PC and servers, operation console, fiber optic, ethernet networks, and communication.
Willing to travel and relocation.
