About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Coordinator to join our team at Polaris Inc. in Apodaca, Mexico. As a key member of our Corporate EHS organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations and company objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Understand and oversee the permitting processes, including applicability, licenses, updates to agencies, and legal reports.
  • Effectively coordinate and execute environmental programs, working closely with the Environmental Corporate Manager.
  • Actively promote and coach environmental and sustainability projects.
  • Promote environmental education and culture.
  • Coordinate and track corporate goals or metrics, including incident reductions, energy, water usage, and waste generation.
  • Manage environmental and safety agency visits, inspections, and general relations.
  • Coordinate the implementation of safety legal requirements and internal programs and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and safety requirements for new projects, including expansions, new equipment, and processes.
  • Perform audits and inspections to verify program implementation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Health and Safety or a related field, combined with relevant work experience.
  • Master's degree in Environmental Management or any EHS-related field is strongly preferred.
  • English language proficiency of at least 80% (written and spoken).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the environmental, health, and safety function in a fast-paced, complex manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of legal environmental and safety Mexican requirements and norms.
  • Good knowledge of EHS Management Systems, including ISO 14001, OHSAS, and related certifications.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to influence others and build relationships.
  • Comprehensive risk analysis, root cause definition, and problem-solving skills.
  • Data management and statistics integration.
  • Trainer abilities, training material integration, and massive communication strategy development.
