Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Metrology Engineer to join our team at North American Production Sharing. As a Metrology Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing CMM programs for inspection of components and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities:

CMM Programming and Operation:

  • Develop and maintain CMM programs using software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar.
  • Set up and operate CMM equipment to inspect components and assemblies.
  • Ensure accurate measurement and inspection of parts per engineering specifications and GD&T requirements.

Quality Assurance and Control:

  • Conduct first article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections.
  • Analyze measurement data and generate detailed inspection reports.
  • Identify and report non-conformances, and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.

Training and Development:

  • Train and mentor junior quality and CMM operators on proper use and programming of CMM equipment.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and software updates relevant to CMM and quality inspection.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Review and improve CMM programs for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes for quality-related issues.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to provide feedback on design and manufacturability from a metrology perspective.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, measurements, and quality data.
  • Prepare and present quality reports and data analysis to management and customers as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in CMM programming and operation, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Proficiency in CMM machines (Mitutoyo) and software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and production management software.
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English languages (written and verbal).
