Key Responsibilities:

The Operations Manager at Vertiv is responsible for leading the production activities to ensure that goods and/or services meet volume, quality, and cost requirements within established timeframes. This role involves planning, organizing, directing, and controlling production to achieve efficiency and effectiveness.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure new employees follow an induction process.
  • Manage direct reports and indirect team members related to the Business Unit.
  • Monitor team competences and develop autonomy through training plans, follow-ups, and training actions.
  • Enforce working standards, safety protocols, quality standards, and product respect within the Business Unit.
  • Conduct annual appraisals, salary reviews, career interviews, succession planning, and provide feedback.
  • Communicate a mindset of continuous improvement and responsibility towards targets achievement.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, and organize delegation.
  • Lead Gemba activities with the team, reviewing TOP 3 issues and countermeasures.
  • Assign and check corrective actions on recurring problems with Business Unit and Plant support departments.
  • Escalate issues that cannot be solved at the Business Unit level to the Site level.
  • Lead workstation ergonomics risk analysis and elimination.
  • Review action plans to improve SQCDP performance and be responsible for Customer Line Return analysis and solving.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Bilingual 90% English-Spanish.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel).
  • Desired Six Sigma Green Belt certified and exposure to Operative systems based on Toyota Production Systems.
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Administration and Management — Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • 5-7 years of experience.
