Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Anesthesiologist Doctor to join our team in International Humanitarian Missions. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing and carrying out anesthetic medical activities, in accordance with MSF policies and protocols and universal asepsis standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the surgeon to assess patient risks and provide appropriate information prior to surgery.
  • Prepare necessary medicines, materials, and equipment in advance.
  • Administer and maintain anesthesia following hygiene and asepsis rules.
  • Supervise patients during the intervention.
  • Ensure the transfer of patients to the recovery room and the complete recovery of consciousness.
  • Advise on postoperative care in the intensive care unit and ward.
  • Implement and supervise MSF hygiene rules and procedures in the operating room and recovery.
  • Supervise the pharmacy of the operating room and maintain inventories.
  • Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of operating room equipment.
  • Organize tasks of personnel under responsibility and participate in team management activities.
  • Collaborate with other project departments and participate in emergency activities.
  • Guarantee compliance with administrative procedures and prepare regular reports on results and processes.
Requirements
  • Essential: Doctor's degree.
  • Essential: Diploma in anesthesiologist specialty.
  • Desirable: Two years of experience as an anesthetist.
  • Desirable: Experience working in MSF or another NGO in developing countries or conflict areas.
Language

English as primary language (B1 or B2 level minimum). Knowledge of French will be an asset.

Position Conditions

Work Venue: Where the needs of the project require it.

Profits: Monthly remuneration: in the first 12 months, the approximate gross monthly bonus is USD $1,500. Remuneration increases based on experience and responsibility in the field. Private insurance coverage includes medical, hospital, temporary disability, and life insurance. Medical evacuation arranged if necessary. Expenses for housing, basic services, cleaning, and washing covered. Other expenses like transportation, visas, and field displacements covered by MSF. Per diem mainly to cover meals and small personal expenses.

Start: Depending on the needs of the project.

Duration: Minimum 6 months.

Working day: Full time.
