**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled International Trade Compliance Specialist to join our team at Garmin International, Inc. in Chile. As a key member of our compliance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all Garmin products comply with international trade regulations and laws.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Liaise with our Corporate Engineering and International Trade Compliance Departments, as well as customs brokers and local certification agencies, to obtain and maintain all necessary product certifications for importing products into Mexico.
  • Proactively monitor changes in current and future legislation and advise the organization on potential impacts and opportunities related to product certifications.
  • Manage a register of all product certifications and coordinate timely actions to keep certifications current.
  • Oversee administrative functions related to the certification process, including product samples, costs, payments, taxes, and contract renewals with labs.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and other departments within Garmin for all activities related to product certification.

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's Degree in International Trade or a related field, or a minimum of 4 years of equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of customs valuation, rules of origin, and trade agreements in Mexico.
  • Proficient working knowledge and experience with Customs laws and regulations in Mexico.
  • Proficient knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Explanatory Notes.
  • Ability to determine the proper classification of electronic goods.
  • Proficient communication skills in English.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Experience in imports, exports, or international trade.
  • Proficiency in Oracle.
