About the Role

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Clinical Data Science Lead to join our Full-Service IOD Clinical Data Science team at ICON plc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading clinical data science activities, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality data, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Oversee Clinical Data Science Activities: Lead the development and implementation of clinical data science strategies, ensuring timely delivery of data review and data delivery milestones.
  • Provide Input into Clinical System Development Activities: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide input on clinical system development activities, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Track and Escalate Issues: Monitor and track issues that may impact project timelines, scope, or budget, and escalate potential problems effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Forecast Budget and Resources: Forecast budget, hours, and resourcing for clinical data review activities, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Perform Analytic Review: Conduct analytic review as defined in the scope of work and functional plans, focusing on errors that matter or have a meaningful impact on the safety of the subject or interpretation of the final analysis.
  • Develop Planning Documents: Develop planning documents related to data review, data analytics, and data deliverables, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Participate in Audits: Participate in Sponsor and/or third-party audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Negotiate Timelines and Deliverables: Negotiate timelines and key deliverables with clients and/or external customers, vendors, and departments as needed.
Requirements:
  • 5+ Years of Clinical Data Management Experience: Proven experience in clinical data management, with a strong understanding of clinical data science principles and practices.
  • 2+ Years of Experience in a Clinical Research Organization: Experience working in a clinical research organization (CRO) or pharmaceutical company, with a strong understanding of clinical data science workflows and processes.
  • Experience as a Functional Lead: Experience as a functional lead of multiple low and moderately complex studies, with a strong ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Clinical Data Management Systems: Proficiency in at least one Clinical Data Management system, such as Medidata Rave, Inform, Oracle Clinical, or Veeva.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Budget and Timeline Management Experience: Experience in budget and timeline management, with a strong ability to forecast and manage resources.
  • Data Analytic and Data Validation Experience: Experience in data analytic and data validation, with a strong understanding of statistical principles and practices.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Local Equivalent: Bachelor's degree or local equivalent in a relevant field, such as life sciences, computer science, or mathematics.
