About the Role:

The position leads the implementation of Capital Project Management, including engineering corporate standards and good practices, contributing both as an individual and as part of a regional team in delivering consumer products processing and infrastructure projects. It will participate on cross-functional business teams interacting with plant management team members, plant team members, vendors, customers, and other functions. The role requires regular travel up to 60-70%.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides cross-functional teams with technical knowledge and leadership required for the development and execution of capital projects to support manufacturing equipment installations essential to line extensions and product improvements.
  • Plans and leads medium to large-sized local and regional projects/programs that include the integration of outside resources. Able to follow and champion the Capital Project Management process.
  • Provides solutions to a wide range of complex problems using in-depth manufacturing-specific knowledge, combined with the application of engineering principles.
  • Evaluates and selects outside consultants used to supplement in-house staff in the specialist's discipline. May serve as a work team leader for large/complex projects.
  • Supports and leads project teams, Ops Services, and World Class Operations initiatives.
  • Ability to coach and develop self and others in the course of completing work assignments.
  • Participates in and shares information on technical seminars for Maintenance and Operations teams of all countries included in the International division to stay up to date on current trends, changes, and technological advancements.
  • Mentor, train, and develop direct and indirect reports.
  • Key advocate for engineering innovation.
  • Embraces and champions the Capital Project Management One Right Way process.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of engineering experience.
  • Experience with capital projects and capital budget process.
  • 2+ years of experience in Operations, 2+ years in Staff Engineering, 2+ years of project work with exposure to new product development.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP, Autocad or equivalent, and utilization of Engineering Standards.
  • Problem-solving, data collection, and analysis skills.
  • Planning and organizing skills to manage project priorities and coordinate other function activities.
  • WCO/TPM/Learn Manufacturing processes and techniques.
  • Proven skills to effectively document and communicate technical information to different organization levels.
  • Background in consumer packaged goods environment.
  • Understands Continuous Improvement Methodology.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Planning and organizing skills to manage project priorities and coordinate other function activities and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in batch, continuous, and discrete manufacturing.
  • Strong project management skills including project cost control.
  • Engineering or operations experience with consumer packaged goods packaging equipment and systems preferred.
