The Sherwin-Williams Company, a prominent entity in the paints and coatings sector, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to enhance our financial operations. In this role, the Senior Analyst will manage a variety of high-volume financial transactions and activities within their designated teams, ensuring superior efficiency and effectiveness compared to Analysts and Junior Analysts. Additionally, the Senior Analyst will undertake leadership responsibilities within their teams and act as the primary contact for resolving issues related to both internal and external stakeholders. All tasks must adhere to a stringent system of internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Execute transactional processes with precision and timeliness within the assigned SBS team, which may include Fixed Assets, General Accounting, and Account Reconciliations.

  • Analyze activities in construction in process accounts.
  • Capitalize fixed asset items in accordance with company policies.
  • Establish intangible assets in the Fixed Assets module to enable amortization.
  • Prepare standard recurring journal entries.
  • Conduct bank and account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and upload into OneStream. Monitor outstanding items daily and communicate with various sources to resolve issues. Document actions taken regarding discrepancies thoroughly.
  • Address basic inquiries from Analysts and Junior Analysts regarding the aforementioned tasks.
  • Assist in training new team members on these responsibilities.
  • Investigate more complex issues related to the tasks outlined above.

2. Month-End Close Support.

  • Provide assistance during the month-end close process, aiming for a 2-day close, and support GL Accountants and Finance Managers.
  • Collaborate with key personnel to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the month-end close.

3. Conduct Financial Analysis.

  • Investigate transactions that are pending resolution within various balance sheet clearing accounts, including intercompany accounts.
  • Highlight policy exceptions to management.
  • Respond to inquiries from external parties, such as vendors regarding payment timelines.
  • Assist internal parties as needed, including gathering documentation for internal audits.
  • Prepare various reports as assigned.

4. Drive Process Improvement Initiatives.

  • Engage in transactional lean training and continuously refine those skills.
  • Propose and implement small-scale process improvement projects.
  • Assist with or lead larger-scale process improvement initiatives as assigned.

5. Additional Responsibilities.

  • Contribute to short-term special projects and requests.
  • Help coordinate team efforts to achieve short-term project goals.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

6. Foster Customer Service Excellence.

  • Respond to all inquiries in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Serve as the initial point of escalation for issues related to both internal and external customers.
  • Assist in coaching Analysts and Junior Analysts on customer service techniques.
  • Support management in resolving customer service issues at the regional center.

Formal Education:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent relevant experience.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

Knowledge & Experience:

Required:

  • 3-4 years of experience in relevant financial activities such as Fixed Assets, General Accounting, and Account Reconciliations.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle R12 / Cloud, SAP).

Preferred:

  • 4-6 years of experience in relevant financial activities.
  • Advanced English proficiency (must be able to speak, write, and read).
