Satellite Communications Technician

Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled Satellite Communications Technician to support the CDSS program. The ideal candidate will have experience in satellite communications electronic systems, including installation, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of satellite communications equipment.

Salary Range

The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Servicing and maintaining satellite communication equipment, including up and down converters, frequency division multiple access (FDMA) and time division multiple access (TDMA) modems, and modem hub operations;
• Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on AN/TPS-70 series radars and TADIL systems;
• Operating and maintaining antenna controllers, solid state power amplifiers (SSPA), low noise amplifiers (LNA/LNB), and associated cabling and interconnects;
• Collaborating with the team to ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks;

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• At least 2 years of experience in support of installations, repair, troubleshooting, or maintenance of satellite communications electronic systems or equipment;
• Knowledge of tactical and commercial satellite communication equipment, including satellite modems, redundancy switch, associated cables and interconnects, up converters, down converters, high power amplifiers (HPAs), low noise amplifiers (LNAs), low noise block (LNB), waveguide joints and connections, intermediate frequency (IF) cable and connections, antenna, antenna motors, solid state power amplifiers (SSPA), antenna control unit (ACU), and associated cabling and interconnects;
• Technical documentation skills related to SAR, GAR, TSR, and ASI requests;
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active Secret Level Security clearance;
