Job Summary:
Grupo Prodensa is seeking a highly skilled Material Manager to lead our strategic sourcing efforts and drive business growth. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the availability of raw materials and components to meet our production schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement industry best practices for request for proposal processes to maintain favorable positions across relevant commodity classes and components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop longer-range supply strategies and plans that drive significant value while meeting business requirements.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure accurate material availability and take ownership of raw materials and components to meet production schedules.
- Drive annual cost savings through effective strategies and negotiations to meet annual budget projections.
- Establish and maintain frameworks for make versus buy decisions related to components.
- Develop and maintain processes for vendor selection, qualification, master service agreements, and consignment agreements.
- Create and maintain strategic demand forecasts for manufactured items through the Sales Inventory and Operations Plan (SIOP) cycle of meetings.
- Measure, analyze, and report key process metrics, while monitoring adherence to key performance indicators (KPI) for assigned product categories and adjust schedules as necessary.
- Assist with inventory accuracy by identifying problems, monitoring accuracy, inventory levels, and manpower requirements.
- Supervise and manage employees as it relates to all projects or related work, establish performance requirements, clarify responsibilities of those supervised, conduct performance appraisals, and plan for individual employee development.
- Keep supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or another related field. MBA preferred.
- At least 8 years of related strategic sourcing, purchasing, and manufacturing experience.
- At least 5 years of management experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English.
- Experience working with MRP/ERP systems.
- Certified Supply Chain Professional or Project Management Professional certification preferred.
- Skilled at establishing supplier quality and scorecard programs.
- Experience with global suppliers, selections, and balancing multiple suppliers for each part.
- Warehouse management experience preferred.
- Knowledge of hardline tools and equipment preferred.
