Summary

As a Senior Manager of Material Flow Operations, you will take charge of the design and execution of distribution requirements planning, inbound logistics, internal part distribution, line-side presentation, floor packaging, visual aids, line-feeding rates from the warehouse to the production floor, and the implementation of PFEP (Plan for Every Part). You will lead the material flow engineering team and work collaboratively with various departments to enhance material flow and ensure streamlined manufacturing processes.

Detailed Description

Supervise the timeline of Material Flow Projects Develop and execute distribution requirements planning strategies to guarantee the availability of the right materials at the right time and location Oversee inbound logistics, including coordination with production facilities for precise arrival schedules and daily dispatch operations Formulate and implement internal part distribution strategies to effectively transport materials from receiving to the production floor Design line-side presentations, floor packaging, and visual aids to support lean manufacturing methodologies Establish line-feeding rates from the warehouse to the production floor to minimize downtime and maximize productivity Implement and maintain a PFEP to document all parts, packaging, and delivery methods Collaborate with manufacturing, transportation, and supply scheduling teams to address supply challenges and identify potential solutions Continuously assess and enhance material flow processes to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

Experience in the industrial, aerospace, automotive, or communications goods sectors Comprehensive understanding of Engineering-To-Order, Build-To-Order, Build-To-Print, and BOMs Proficient in utilizing data analysis tools and generating reports (MS Power BI, advanced MS Excel) Certification in Supply Chain Management or Logistics is advantageous.

Physical Demands

Duties of this position are performed in a standard office environment. Responsibilities may require prolonged periods of sitting and sustained visual focus on a computer monitor or detailed data. Frequent repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are required. Occasional overnight travel may be necessary.

Typical Experience

7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing setting, with an emphasis on material flow and logistics Proficient in utilizing distribution management systems and routing software applications Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and experience in implementing continuous improvement initiatives Experience in implementing and maintaining PFEP projects in a manufacturing context

Typical Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
