Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Supply Chain Material Handling Lead to join our team at General Motors. As a key member of our supply chain organization, you will be responsible for leading a team and providing employee development, training, and driving the performance management process. You will also manage an efficient organizational structure to ensure business objectives are met or exceeded in all areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute deliverables in support of the supply chain organization's business objectives.
  • Guide one of the key areas within the Global Supply Chain to ensure business objectives are met or exceeded in all areas, including customer, quality, service, responsiveness, people, product, and financial initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, within the function as well as other functions and suppliers.
  • Support relationship management with logistic suppliers and service providers.
What You Will Do
  • Understand and assess complex supply chain issues and lead teams in a cross-functional environment to successfully resolve issues, minimizing impacts to vehicle production.
  • Assess supplier schedules and impact on vehicle assembly production.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop creative solutions.
  • Summarize critical issues with resolutions and communicate to leadership.
  • Handle very complex capacity constraint issues to resolution, with the goal of eliminating potential plant disruptions and reducing premium transportation.
  • Analyze metrics supporting supplier critical issues or sufficiency plan resolution.
  • Be flexible and at times work extended and non-core hours to ensure issues are worked to resolution.
  • Travel to plant locations when required for onsite support of launch and build-out.
  • Problem-solve and implement new and innovative strategies.
  • Have a deep understanding of Supply Chain functions.
  • Make autonomous decisions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and Administrative with plant materials floor experience.
  • Required experience in similar position: 3 to 5 years of experience in stamping areas.
  • Available to change shifts (4x3, 5x2, 6x1).
  • English Level: Intermediate/Advanced.
  • High Knowledge in MGO.
  • High Knowledge in WMS.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Microsoft Office.
