As a key member of the Celestica leadership team, the Strategic Improvement Director will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive Continuous Improvement (CI) strategy across the organization. This role will focus on driving productivity projects, ensuring a robust Cost Productivity Roadmap, and promoting a common approach to process improvement standards and methodology.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the site leadership team in the development and implementation of CI strategy, including leading productivity projects and ensuring a robust Cost Productivity Roadmap across CFTs.
- Develop and ensure a common approach to process improvement standards and methodology is practiced across the site.
- Manage the CI/Industrial Engineering/Facilities and Security teams across CMX sites.
- Ensure strategy for new sites from a facilities, security, and industrial design perspective.
- Stay abreast of best practices within the broader Celestica network and the industry to integrate into the function/region.
- Demonstrated success in leading/facilitating a Continuous Improvement transformation.
- Experience in identifying the need for and implementing process and facility improvements that resulted in significant gains in operational efficiencies.
- Proven project management and organizational skills and expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and lead without direct authority by acting as a change agent.
- Experience in key facets of complex manufacturing and support function environments.
- Demonstrated experience in deploying CI across entire value streams.
- Proven experience in security plan and programs to provide a safe, healthy, secure, and productive work environment at minimal costs without impacting employee/operational effectiveness.
- Experience in delivering facilities projects, including preparation of statement of requirements, all architectural and design engineering activity, the preparation of design drawings, specifications, and contracts for tender and construction, and managing the construction delivery process.
- Project Costing/Planning and management of facilities and assets.
- Management of site facilities staff, including security, maintenance, business center staff, and/or contractors.
- Strategic Security direction, policy development, and interpretation, ongoing direction, control, counseling of employees at all levels.
- Broad knowledge of security and facilities standards and regulations.
- Black Belt Certificate, major experience in Industrial Engineering, Ramps, and CI System implementation and benchmarking.
- 10+ years of experience in similar positions in the EMS industry.
- 10+ experience in implementing LEAN Systems in the shop floor.
- 15+ implementation of New Technology & Ramp of new business in similar industries.
- Prior experience in a Director-level or Sr. Manager role of similar size, scope, and complexity.
