Job Scope & Purpose

  • Provides guidance to SAP Basis Administrators and Support Analysts.
  • Maintains all SAP Systems and related software, including upgrades, preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Administers the configuration of SAP Systems and services for all JCI enterprise data centers.
  • Monitors vendors' support facilities for software updates and recommends maintenance to keep systems current.
  • Recognizes and responds to customer expectations with a sense of urgency.
  • Provides service continuity by executing backup and recovery processes.
  • Maintains Disaster Recovery plans, procedures, and test scenarios.
  • Maintains SOX procedures and adheres to SOX policies.
  • Applies security policies to the SAP & Database platforms.
  • Cooperates with people of different levels inside/outside the company and interacts with teams to reach goals and business objectives.
  • Provides 2nd level of incident and problem management with responsibility for resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Monitors and evaluates system performance and performs tuning functions.
  • Monitors system resources utilization and supports capacity planning.
  • Participates in planning and execution of server workload migrations and consolidations.
  • Interfaces and coordinates with Global Infrastructure Architecture, Project Engineering, Application Managed Services, and Business teams.
  • Maintains knowledge of the latest developments impacting the SAP Basis Platform.
  • Provides effective technical documentation to clearly communicate procedures and developments.
  • Demonstrates customer service attitude and work ethic.
  • Adheres to the Company's Ethics standards.

Position Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or similar.
  • 5 - 10 years of SAP Basis platform experience (ABAP and JAVA).
  • 3 - 5 years Linux and Windows experience.
  • 3 - 5 years HANA Database experience. Experience with MSSQL, Sybase, or Oracle is a plus.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people of different skills, backgrounds, departments, and management levels.
  • Ability to provide off hours on call support.
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in speaking English.
  • The successful incumbent in this position will have extensive knowledge and experience in maintaining and configuring SAP Systems.
  • Experience with Linux and Windows platforms as well as Azure or Google cloud platforms is strongly desired.
