Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Product Development Director to lead the development of innovative products and grow the technical capabilities of Yanfeng Automotive. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for owning product design, development, and launch support.
Main Responsibilities:
Work closely with YFAI & OEM customer Engineering, Styling, and Business groups to support Requests for Information, Requests for Quote, new designs, and manufacturing feasibility.
Interpret customer material and product requirements and specifications.
Create Bills of Materials (BOMs), Drawings, and develop DFMEAs and DRBFMs as required per design.
Lead and support cross-functional product reviews and create and document design assumptions.
Align to assembly process and technique, and support assembly aid and fixture design.
Confirm design concepts and fundamental technologies used for new products or improvement of existing products.
Deliver design within engineering budget and BOM cost targets.
Develop tactical plans to meet deliverables and support pre-production readiness events, product launches, and post-launch plant support.
Support analysis of product concerns during launch, production, and warranty.
Support product design cost optimization through the use of design analysis, Bill of Material (BOM) reviews, and competitive benchmarking and attending VA/VE activities.
Create and submit proposals for consideration and allocation of resources for key development projects.
Initiate, lead, and manage continuous improvement activities for the development of the group, the products created, and the processes used.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field and at least four years of experience in automotive interiors.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
