Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager - Cost Optimization Specialist to join our team at Jabil Careers. In this role, you will be responsible for selecting and evaluating strategic suppliers based on cost optimization and quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Select suppliers based on overall cost and benefit, including price, duty, freight, flexibility, service, performance, quality, and terms and conditions.
  • Monitor, track, and provide feedback on suppliers' performance on overall cost, delivery, and quality.
  • Communicate Jabil's expectations to the suppliers and conduct supplier audit/visits, certifications, and performance reviews to develop and continuously improve the supply base.
  • Understand suppliers, their capabilities, market trends, and technologies for assigned commodities.
  • Evaluate and ensure that workcell Purchasing and Planning staff is given proper training, tools, and resources to execute their job functions.
  • Supervise all decisions related to components and materials acquisitions, ensuring reliable sourcing options from Approved Manufacturer's List (AML) and convenient options for the business.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions that protect the best interest of Jabil and its customers.
  • Work with Planners and Buyers to control the stocking, tracking excess and obsolete material.
  • Analyze and project component purchase prices that accurately reflect the inventory value for a financial period in Standard Costing process.
  • Optimize overall cost of materials.
  • Provide input to determine Quoted cost to the customer that is competitive yet maximizes the amount of Materials Price Variance (MPV).
  • Continuously optimize MPV by reducing the cost of materials and limiting unfavorable PPV/MPV.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement.
  • Proven track record of cost savings and process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
