About the RoleAs a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for producing timely and accurate payroll, including weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly processing. You will serve as the day-to-day liaison with our payroll vendor, ADP GlobalView, and respond to employee queries in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities- Canada payroll processing: Produce timely and accurate payroll, including weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly processing.
- Payroll vendor liaison: Act as the day-to-day liaison with ADP GlobalView.
- Employee support: Respond to employee tickets/queries in a timely manner.
- Payroll documentation: Maintain payroll procedure manuals and business process documents.
- Quality control: Ensure quality controls in the payroll process and update documentation, including reconciliation of results and audit checks.
- Matters escalation: Highlight and escalate relevant matters that may impact the running of payrolls to the Team Manager.
- Cyclical events: Conduct timely and accurate processing of cyclical events, including weekly, bi-weekly, month-end, qtr-end, and year-end activities.
- Statutory legislation: Maintain up-to-date knowledge and expertise of statutory legislation and ADP systems.
- Payroll tax monitoring: Ensure compliance with payroll tax requirements.
- 3-5 years of Canada payroll experience.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in education and experience.
- Knowledge of Year End processing requirements for multiple provinces.
- Proficient with Word and Excel.
- Ability to work under time constraints to ensure deadlines are met.
- Experience with SAP Payroll highly desired.
- Canada payroll tax knowledge.
- Multi-province payroll knowledge.
- Fluent in English and French.
