Job Description:

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements, and maintaining up-to-date records for the company's employees. This role involves managing payroll data, handling employee inquiries, and supporting HR operations in the country. The Payroll Specialist will also be responsible for ensuring that all payroll processes are carried out efficiently and in accordance with local laws and company policies. This role may require working in a hybrid model, combining remote and on-site work as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Processing: Process the company's payroll every pay period, ensuring timely and accurate payment to all employees.
  • Statutory Compliance: Register and deregister employees for statutory social benefits with relevant local authorities, handle statutory processing to ensure compliance with local requirements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings.
  • Data Management: Ensure that employee data is updated correctly in the payroll and employee databases, generate and distribute payslips accurately and promptly to all relevant employees.
  • Employee Support: Respond to employee inquiries regarding wages, deductions, attendance, and time records, providing detailed breakdowns when necessary, serve as an escalation point for employees, ensuring their issues and concerns are resolved quickly and efficiently.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Adhere to payroll policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in payroll-related tasks, maintain confidentiality of employee pay records at all times, complete payroll reports for record-keeping purposes or managerial review.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll processing.
  • Deep understanding of statutory filing requirements in Mexico.
  • Process payroll activities in accordance with company guidelines, social security, legislations, and local taxes requirements.
  • Experience with SUA, SIPARE, IDSE (México).
  • Must have understanding of payroll concepts such as: Earning/Deduction, Termination Payouts, Social Security Law, Federal Work Law, SBC determination and revision (México).
  • Ensure the compliance related to electronic stamping (CFDI'S) (México).
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations in Mexico.
  • Has working experience with payroll-related systems and software.
  • Proficiency in both verbal and written communication in English.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work under tight schedules and pressure.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a good team player.
  • Flexibility and a start-up mindset, with the ability to perform tasks in different areas.
  • Willingness and ability to work in a hybrid model, combining remote and on-site work as required.
