Capital Health is seeking a skilled Healthcare Access Representative to join our team. As a key member of our Patient Access department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth registration process for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Register patients accurately and efficiently, following established procedures and guidelines.
- Collect and verify demographic, diagnosis, and insurance information to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
- Comply with regulatory requirements and departmental procedures for Medicare Secondary Payer, Advance Beneficiary Notice, Advance Directives, and Patients Rights forms.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations and referrals.
- Support departmental performance improvement initiatives and contribute to quality performance improvement initiatives.
- Act as a resource for the Patient Access department and liaison for physician offices and ancillary departments.
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- One year of experience in a healthcare setting or one year of customer service experience.
- Medical terminology and medical insurance knowledge preferred.
- Strong customer service skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
This is a full-time position with a regular 8-hour workday. The physical demands of this role include frequent sitting, standing, walking, and keyboard use. Occasional climbing, carrying objects, and pushing/pulling may be required. Continuous talking and hearing are also essential functions of this role.
