Senior Agave Operations Manager

This role represents a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to join our team and drive performance in all aspects of the balanced scorecard (Safety, Quality, Service, Cost). As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve productivity, quality, and environmental governance, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the deployment of Manufacturing Management Systems (MMS) practices at Tier 2 & 3, allocating day-to-day resources to achieve key departmental metrics.
- Have day-to-day accountability for the agave budget, as allocated.
- Maintain and improve asset quality and reliability through effective use of Diageo's Asset Care systems.
- Set objectives and priorities, and lead the change management processes for the department.
- Be disciplined about adhering to standards across the site, responding immediately to issues as they arise and invoking consequences for poor performance.
- Coach direct reports to identify areas of under-performance, encouraging a breakthrough mindset to problems faced and empowering people to take ownership.
- Identify the need for multi-disciplinary problem-solving teams to address systemic problems.
- Develop direct reports and employees to be the best they can be through effective breakthrough performance mentoring and engagement.
About You:
We're looking for a seasoned leader with a strong track record in production/manufacturing environments, with a deep understanding of the agave process from fields to delivery to the plant. You'll be a champion of manufacturing excellence, with experience in logistics sites where lorries and traffic management are critical. Your ability to build a high-performance climate within large multi-disciplined teams will be key to your success in this role.
Requirements:
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent, ideally in an engineering or science-related area, or qualified through validated experience.
- At least 7 years' leadership experience, with a great track record in production/manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of agave process from fields to delivery to the plant.
- Champion of manufacturing excellence leadership, management, tools, and techniques.
- Large experience on logistics sites where lorries and traffic management are critical.
- Ability to build a high-performance climate within large multi-disciplined teams.
- Consistent record as a great mentor.
- Sound and validated financial acumen.
- Track record of great engagement and communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of standard business software (MS Office) and Diageo systems.
