Manufacturing and Process Development Engineer I

At Te Connectivity, our Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams play a pivotal role in driving LEANPD initiatives that enhance new product development projects, optimize existing manufacturing technologies, and explore innovative methods to improve process control and tolerance. They serve as a bridge between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of this critical interface. By collaborating with product development teams, they optimize designs and piece parts for manufacturability, creating sample tooling, products, and prototypes. Additionally, they design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes that meet TE quality and production standards, documenting all processes and tooling in applicable systems.

Key Responsibilities

- Configure and program new assembly equipment to meet manufacturing requirements
- Collaborate with Mechanical Design Engineers to develop assembly equipment and select high-quality, cost-effective components
- Create detailed electrical drawings and user manuals for new assembly equipment
- Manage diverse projects to ensure timely completion
- Participate in and lead Machine Design Reviews for internal and external builds
- Develop the main machine programming sequence (PLC, Labview GUI, HMI)
- Provide support to the production floor as needed
- Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering or Electronic/Controls Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the automotive industry or similar roles
- Experience in automated processes and machines
- Intermediate English proficiency
- Proficiency in programming languages including PLC (Allen Bradley) and software packages such as RSLogix500, RSLogix5000, Studio 5000, Workbench (Omron), CX-One, Sysmac Studio, GS9SP Software (Automation Direct), Click Software (Delta), ISPSoft, WPLSoft (Siemens), Tia Porta Step 7, HMI (Allen Bradley), Factory Talk View Studio (Automation Direct), Cmore (Delta), DopSoft (Siemens), WinCC Tia Portal (HMI), and NB-Designer, Labview, and ZWCAD Mechanical
