We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Head of Wiring Harness Development to lead the interdisciplinary team of a distinguished automotive company in Puebla. This is a unique chance to spearhead innovation in vehicle electrical distribution systems and shape the future of automotive technology, with a special focus on collaboration with the Volkswagen Group. Mission As Head of Wiring Harness Development, you will oversee the comprehensive development cycle of cutting-edge wiring harness systems, from initial concept and 3D layout through validation and series production. This leadership position requires not only deep technical expertise in wiring harness development but also proven experience in leading engineering teams, managing projects, and fostering strong customer relationships. Key Responsibilities Full ownership of the wiring harness development lifecycle, from concept to validation and series production.Supervise all 3D design activities including routing, packaging, and optimizing wiring harnesses using CATIA V5/V6.Oversee DMU data (ENT/TMU), PDM (Product Detail Mounting Instructions), and development documentation.Manage all change processes, ensuring thorough documentation.Serve as the technical interface to customer engineering departments—especially with the Volkswagen Group—including technical coordination, installation trials, and design reviews.Monitor team performance, conduct technical reviews, and mentor engineers for professional growth.Coordinate seamlessly with internal teams (production, quality, purchasing) and suppliers.Support the setup and development of the office and team in Puebla.Continuously improve processes and procedures for wiring harness development.Drive training initiatives for new employees.Build and strengthen customer relationships with OEMs, particularly the VW Group, raising Cofat's profile.Ensure compliance with TSAX (information security) procedures and customer confidentiality rules. RequirementsDegree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.Minimum 5 years of professional experience in wiring harness development.Extensive knowledge of electrical wiring systems, system architectures, and development guidelines.Expert proficiency in CATIA (V5/V6 Electrical Harness), KVS, Connect, and VW-specific tools/interfaces.Strong understanding of change management and release procedures within the Volkswagen Group.Demonstrated experience in team leadership, resource planning, and cross-functional coordination.Excellent communication skills and customer-focused attitude, especially working with OEMs.Knowledge of agile development methods in technical environments.International project experience or experience leading distributed teams.Fluent in English; German language skills are a strong asset.
