About the role: The organization is seeking a hands-on Data Architect to help design and operationalize a data services practice from the ground up. This is a strategic and execution-focused role for someone who has led data teams, built consulting offerings, or transformed fragmented data environments into reliable, governed ecosystems.

This position blends big-picture thinking with real-world delivery. The Data Architect will shape service offerings, frameworks, and delivery approaches while advising on early client engagements and partnering closely with AI leadership to ensure data is the backbone of every solution.

What You'll Do

Design and define the firm's Data Services practice model, offerings, and go-to-market approach.Build reusable frameworks and accelerators for data governance, data readiness, architecture, and data quality.Partner with AI and engineering leaders to ensure data platforms effectively support AI/ML initiatives.Advise on early-stage client engagements, including solution design and delivery approach (light delivery, high impact).Support pre-sales efforts by contributing expertise to proposals, scoping, and client conversations.Define hiring profiles and provide guidance on building future data practice teams.Act as a trusted advisor, helping clients turn complex, fragmented data ecosystems into clear, scalable foundations.

What You Need

10+ years leading data engineering, architecture, governance, or analytics teamsStrong consulting chops—you've built practices, services, or reusable IP beforeFluency in modern data platforms + how they enable AI/MLExecutive presence with the ability to simplify the complexBias for action (no endless whiteboarding—just outcomes)If you've ever been the "calm in the data storm," you'll fit right in.

Salary & Perks

Competitive SalaryThis is a full-time, long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement.Work from home.Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (+/- 1 hour accepted) - PST.Additional perks.
