About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Healthcare Data Analytics Leader to oversee our analytics team and drive data-driven insights that support clinical, operational, and financial objectives. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in healthcare data systems, strong leadership capabilities, and extensive experience in ETL processes, enterprise data warehousing, and analytics delivery. This role will lead a high-performing team, manage complex analytics initiatives, and collaborate with clinical, operational, and administrative partners to enhance patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and organizational performance.
Kay Responsibilities:
Leadership & People Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of healthcare data analysts and data specialists.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing coaching, and support professional growth.
- Align team resources with organizational priorities and evolving project needs.
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and deliverables.
- Oversee analytics and data engineering lifecycles using Azure DevOps.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on goals, priorities, and timelines.
Risk Management & Mitigation
- Identify risks related to data pipelines, system dependencies, compliance, and project delivery.
- Implement mitigation strategies and contingency plans to ensure project continuity.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and escalate issues when necessary.
Healthcare Data Engineering & ETL
- Design and manage complex ETL pipelines for clinical, operational, financial, and claims data.
- Utilize SSIS for efficient data integration and transformation.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare data standards and PHI privacy requirements.
- Maintain data integrity and quality across diverse healthcare sources.
Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Development
- Develop and maintain enterprise healthcare data warehouses and data marts.
- Architect scalable, secure data structures supporting clinical analytics, revenue cycle insights, and regulatory reporting.
- Implement strong data governance practices across the data ecosystem.
Analytics, Reporting & Insights
- Build advanced SQL-based data models aligned with healthcare workflows and KPIs.
- Deliver dashboards and analytical reports for clinical, financial, operational, and executive stakeholders.
- Support strategic initiatives such as quality improvement, cost optimization, and value-based care.
Strategic Collaboration & Communication
- Communicate complex analytical findings in a clear, actionable manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Partner with operational leaders to define BI requirements and align analytics solutions with business needs.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on data insights and industry trends.
Required Qualifications
- Progressive experience in data analytics or data management, including at least
5 years in healthcare
. - Proven experience leading and developing analytics teams, including hiring, mentorship, and performance management.
- Demonstrated success in creating and executing project plans, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
- Strong proficiency in:
- SQL Server
- ETL processes
- SSIS
- EDW architecture
- Azure DevOps
- Experience with risk identification, mitigation planning, and proactive issue resolution in data/analytics projects.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex insights for non-technical audiences.
- Deep knowledge of healthcare data standards, PHI handling, and HIPAA compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Technical Competencies
- Advanced SQL programming and data modeling.
- Enterprise healthcare data warehouse design and architecture.
- Experience with visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance best practices.
- Familiarity with predictive analytics or machine learning techniques (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Agile methodologies in healthcare analytics environments.
- Exposure to advanced analytics for patient outcomes, population health, or revenue cycle optimization.
