Position Overview:
As a Front-End Software Engineer at Fountain, you will collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, designers, and product managers to create user-centered web applications that empower organizations to improve employee retention.

To succeed in this position, it is important to have a proven track record of working with rich enterprise products and possess strong problem solving skills, and a solid technical background in frontend development..

The Fountain Engineering team is organized into product squads, each responsible for independently owning the product's health and market fit. The teams are the domain experts of their products, and are always looking to improve their operation.

We are a rapidly growing team that operates with agility and speed. You will be expected to find creative solutions even when faced with uncertainty, and you will have the freedom to do so. In fact, you will operate with the autonomy typically found in early-stage product development, rather than in a larger organization.

This role requires collaboration within a globally distributed organization, spanning different time zones, continents, and cultures (including Western and Northern Europe, USA, South Africa, Mexico, and more).

What you'll be doing:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain product features and enhancements
• Collaborating closely with product and design teams to bring features to life
• Review and collaborate with other developers' work
• Build key front end visual designs for our Pool (talent sourcing) and Referral products using React, Typescript, Material UI, TailwindCSS, and TanStack Query
• Ensure the quality, reliability, operations, and security of all our products
• Identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks and optimizing applications for maximum speed, scalability and ease of use
• Staying up-to-date with industry trends and continuously seeking opportunities to enhance the user experience

What you should bring:

• 3-5 + years of experience in front end software engineering
• Proven experience in product-oriented software development

• Proficiency in modern technologies, including but not limited to:

• React, TypeScript, MongoDB, (must have)

• TailwindCSS, MUI, Vite

• Testing Suite - Vitest/Jest, Playwright

• Experience transforming a deep understanding of user experience and accessibility to build and maintain responsive designs for a variety of devices (desktop/tablet/mobile versions)

• Effective management of, version control, testing, and web performance optimization., and an understanding of user experience and accessibility principles
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about user interactions and system architecture
• Ability to work independently and confidently, even in dynamic situations and with limited information
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders

Nice to Have:

• Experience in B2B SaaS startup environments and remote international settings is strongly preferred
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures, serverless architectures, high volume architectures, API strategies, MongoDB, AWS, micro-services, web security, and Agile methods is highly desirable
• Experience with Ruby on Rails and Express
• Experience working in an Agile development environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Past positions in startups and international contexts will be appreciated.
