Job Description
Chubb is seeking an Experienced Sr. Engineer for Technology Governance and Portfolio Management supporting assigned client within global technology. This role will oversee a portfolio of projects, provide strategic leadership while support tactical execution. This role focuses on the Cloud FinOps practices around cost analysis, optimization and tracking and overall finance and will be accountable for meeting cost reduction targets set by senior leadership. This individual will collaborate with engineers, leaders and stakeholders across the technology organization and the business to ensure proper coordination and execution of activities related to the delivery of FinOps cost management. Essential duties will include Cloud budget and cost management with various applications and stakeholders. Present progress and cost savings key results to cloud leaders and highlight risks and decisions on Cloud FinOps.

Qualifications
This role reports directly to the Cloud Delivery lead. Experienced Sr. FinOps Engineer for Technology Governance and Portfolio Management Responsibilities include:

  • Accountable for meeting savings goals set by senior leadership
  • Update, advise, and collaborate with senior and executive leadership regarding the ongoing alignment of the FinOps portfolio to the business and technology strategy.
  • Reporting and analyzing cloud cost reports and preparing plans for executions in partnership with the CIO and application teams.
  • Work with Finance teams and come up with strategies on reporting and chargeback models for cloud costs.
  • Review Cloud cost optimization tools and help Chubb with reviewing current solution and find the most optimal tool for future.
  • Review Azure cost advisor, analyze relevant recommendations and execute on the optimizations working with Engineering and Application teams.
  • Work with Finance teams on the tagging and reporting needs from application teams and create curated reports for CIO.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance of application and recommend and track Cost Optimization opportunities.
  • Lead and influence global cloud consumer teams in matters of cloud cost optimization
  • Build relationships with Vendors and understand new options to reduce costs
  • Implement automations around improving FinOps and knowledge with Market Standard FinOps tools and how to Optimize it for different clouds.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in finance/technology
  • Minimum 15 years of industry experience in technology / technology finance management.
  • Technical background with understanding of cloud and cloud costs. Experience with Azure and Azure cost advisor
  • Expert level understanding of understanding of at least 1 major cloud provider ecosystem ( AWS, GCP, Azure )
  • Have implementation experience of cost optimizing measures on IaaS and PaaS services in cloud. Experience with rightsizing, reserved instances and autoscaling infrastructure as cost management levers
  • Proficient in using financial tools such as PowerBI, Apptio, cloudability, cloudhealth etc.
  • Scripting and Automation
  • Ability to convert Financial reports into technical executable actions and track them.
  • Strong Written and Verbal communication skills
