Business Group: Lighting
An investment / project Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of Assembly equipment such as Punch and Weld, Robotic cells, assembly lines, services, etc.
This role is crucial in supporting strategic projects and ensuring cost-effective, timely, and compliant purchasing.
With a budget close to the $60M per year and over 8 sites to support, the scope of work is wide and requires a strong candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement of equipment: Purchase equipment, tools, and services needed for launching any new project.
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery targets.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead RFX processes (RFQ, RFP), negotiate terms, and manage contracts.
- Building supplier strategy: Work closely with the global purchasing team throughout the regions, work on the forecast and create plans for the upcoming years purchasing plan
- Project Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, finance, and operations teams to align procurement with project timelines.
- Budget & Cost Control: Analyze spend data, support budgeting, and track savings initiatives.
- Acquisition: Use market analysis and previous sourcing costs to support new customer quotes by keeping OP costs as competitive as possible
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to procurement policies, maintain accurate records, and support audits.
