Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, Airport Patrol, the incumbent is responsible for the activities of a team of contract resources with an emphasis on teamwork, in accordance with current guidelines and procedures. He or she is responsible for civil aviation safety, the protection of the traveling public, the security of facilities, and the enforcement of airport regulations for an assigned sector in a customer service-oriented environment.

• Responsible for civil aviation security, passenger protection, facility security, and enforcement of airport regulations, in accordance with procedures within their scope of activity.
• Collaborates in the daily planning of security activities.
• In accordance with current standards and procedures, handles and controls all operations related to:
  • integrity of the airport perimeter;

access operations for restricted areas;

• • vehicle and pedestrian traffic on airport territory;
  • motorized and foot patrols as part of the territory surveillance plan;
  • inspection operations required under current procedures and directives;
  • emergency situations and exercises.
• Participates in emergency operations in accordance with the airport's emergency measures plan.
• Collaborates on the investigative process into all airport events.  
• Maintains a liaison and close collaboration with internal and external partners.
• Prepares and sends the documentary evidence necessary for maintaining CALEA accreditation.
• Controls the quality of the services provided by contract staff, as well as the various reports required as part of the operations in his /her assigned area.
• Prepares the reports and records requested by his/her superior, including those used for evaluating the performance of the agency providing response personnel.
• Identifies and reports to the contract manager any irregularities related to the performance of duties by contract personnel that do not comply with Airport Patrol expectations or specifications.
• Participates in all prevention programs under the responsibility of the Airport Patrol.
• May be required to control the quality of all administrative and operational activities.
• Collaborates on training and maintaining the skills of staff assigned to operational tasks, in line with the Airport Patrol's Centre of Expertise.
• Performs any other task upon the instructions of his/her superior.

• College diploma (DEC) in police technology or from any other recognized academic institution (military and civil). 
• Possess a valid Class 4A driver's licence.
• Fluent oral and written French and functional oral English.
• Familiarity with the MS Office desktop software suite.
• Familiarity with the civil aviation industry and regulations related to airport security operations an asset.
• Must pass tests to obtain an Airside Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP), within sixty (60) days of obtaining this position.
• Must obtain Transport Canada security clearance necessary for the issuance of a restricted area identity card (RAIC).
• Proactive, resourceful and able to be a team player in a multidisciplinary and customer-focused environment.
• Excellent judgment and great rigour in monitoring and controlling.
• Ability to manage stress caused by emergency situations and tight deadlines.
• Available to work rotating 12-hour shifts. 
• No criminal record.
• Willing to undergo a reliability check
