The Transportation Security Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safety and integrity of fleet operations by implementing and monitoring security strategies that prevent and respond to incidents during transportation. This role works closely with monitoring, operations, and safety teams to mitigate risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a strong security culture across all logistics activities.

Responsibilites:

  • Monitor and analyze transportation routes and activities to detect potential security risks or irregularities.
  • Coordinate incident responses, including thefts, accidents, or unauthorized deviations, ensuring timely communication with relevant authorities and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with operations, road safety, and monitoring teams to establish preventive security measures.
  • Conduct field investigations following incidents and prepare detailed reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Maintain and update security protocols in compliance with CTPAT and internal policies.
  • Provide guidance and training to drivers and field personnel on security and incident prevention practices.
  • Manage relationships with local authorities, insurance representatives, and external security providers.
  • Analyze incident trends to identify vulnerabilities and propose corrective or preventive actions.
  • Support the implementation and improvement of GPS and monitoring systems for real-time risk management.
  • Participate in audits and internal reviews to ensure compliance with security and transportation standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Security, Logistics, or related fields.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in transportation security, incident investigation, or road safety (preferably in heavy-duty fleet operations).
  • Strong knowledge of logistics operations, road networks, and security procedures within Mexico and cross-border operations.
  • Experience managing or coordinating field security incidents and working with law enforcement.
  • Intermediate-Advanced English level.
  • Proficiency with GPS platforms (Samsara, Geotab, etc.) and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork abilities.
