Purchasing Specialist

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and compliance with company standards.
• Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
• Maintain and develop relationships with existing suppliers while exploring new sourcing opportunities.
• Generate, review, and process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Track orders to ensure on-time delivery and resolve issues related to delays or discrepancies.
• Monitor and control purchasing costs in alignment with budget constraints.
• Analyze market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier interactions.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal standards.
• Work closely with Transportation, Yard, Warehouse, and Finance teams to align purchasing activities with operational needs.
• Address internal requests and provide updates on order status, costs, and supplier issues.
• Prepare reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and cost analysis for management review.
• Use data to recommend improvements in sourcing strategies and procurement processes.
• Execute additional tasks assigned by leadership with professionalism and accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations
• Management, or related fields.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the Purchasing area.
• Proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of supply chain management principles and supplier evaluation methods.
• English proficiency.
