About the Position:

We are looking for a Plant Logistics Senior Specialist to join the Manufacturing Lighting team, reporting directly to the Plant Manager.
 

This position is based at our office in Tepotzotlán, México.
 

As the Plant Logistics Senior Specialist at Marelli, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing all logistics processes within our lighting production plant. You will support cross-functional teams to ensure seamless material flow, accurate inventory management, and on-time delivery, while complying with Marelli's operational standards. Your expertise will elevate our plant's efficiency by driving continuous improvement initiatives and implementing innovative logistics solutions, contributing to Marelli's commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence 

Your Responsibilities will be:
  • Inbound & Outbound Logistics Management:
    Oversee the receipt, storage, and shipping of raw materials, components, and finished lighting products, ensuring timely and accurate flows.

  • Production Planning Coordination:
    Collaborate with production planning and manufacturing teams to align logistics activities with the plant's production schedules and targets.

  • Inventory Control:
    Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular audits, and manage stock accuracy to prevent shortages or overstock scenarios.

  • Supplier & Customer Interface:
    Coordinate logistics requirements with suppliers and customers, managing delivery schedules, transportation, and potential issues.

  • Continuous Improvement Projects:
    Identify and implement process improvements, waste reduction initiatives, and lean logistics methodologies in line with Marelli's standards.

  • Transportation Management:
    Select and oversee transportation providers, optimizing routes and cost efficiency while ensuring timely deliveries.

  • Customs & Compliance:
    Ensure compliance with relevant customs regulations, safety standards, and Marelli's quality procedures.

  • Reporting & KPI Tracking:
    Generate and analyze logistics performance reports, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and present findings to management.

  • Team Collaboration:
    Provide guidance and support to junior logistics staff and work cross-functionally with other plant departments.

What Qualifications you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in plant logistics, ideally in the automotive or lighting manufacturing sector.
  • Proven experience with ERP/WMS systems (SAP preferred).
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across functions.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities; proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Project management skills with attention to detail and organizational proficiency.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
  • Adaptability & resilience under tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Multilingual abilities (especially English) are a plus in global operations
