Job Title: Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage financial operations in compliance with Mexican accounting standards and tax regulations. The ideal candidate will oversee daily financial transactions, maintain accurate records, ensure timely tax filings, manage banking activities, revenue tracking, and petty cash, while reporting to the Finance Manager at HQ in Dubai and seeking necessary approvals for financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities


• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (NIF).


• Record daily transactions, reconcile accounts, and ensure proper documentation.


• Calculate and file ISR (Income Tax), IVA (Value Added Tax), and other local taxes as per SAT requirements.


• Stay updated on changes in Mexican tax laws and ensure compliance.


• Manage company bank accounts, monitor transactions, and perform monthly reconciliations.


• Handle petty cash operations, maintain logs, and ensure proper approvals for disbursements.


• Track revenue streams and ensure accurate invoicing in compliance with CFDI electronic invoicing standards.


• Monitor expenses and implement cost-control measures.


• Prepare monthly financial reports and submit to Finance Manager at HQ, Dubai.


• Seek approvals for major financial transactions and ensure adherence to HQ policies.


• Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with local regulations.


• Implement and maintain strong internal controls for financial processes.

Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.


• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in Mexico.


• Strong knowledge of Mexican tax laws, SAT regulations, and electronic invoicing (CFDI).


• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., CONTPAQi, SAP, or similar) and MS Excel.


• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.


• Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish (English is a plus).

Preferred Skills


• Experience with bank reconciliations and petty cash management.


• Familiarity with Mexican payroll processes and social security contributions (IMSS).


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)


• Accuracy of Financial Records: 100% compliance with NIF standards.


• Timely Tax Filing: 100% on-time submission of ISR, IVA, and SAT filings.


• Bank Reconciliation Efficiency: Complete within 5 business days post month-end.


• Petty Cash Management: Variance within ±1% of recorded balance.


• Revenue Recording Accuracy: 100% CFDI compliance.


• Expense Reporting: Delivered within 3 business days of month-end.


• Audit Readiness: Zero major findings in audits.


• Process Improvements: At least 2 efficiency improvements annually.
