Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose: Performs a variety of key technical duties and activities. Leads projects to improve overall process and technical efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
- Achieve significant material cost reductions without compromising product quality.
- Develop a scalable process for evaluating and implementing resin alternatives across business units.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, quality, and manufacturing teams.
- Conduct research and data analysis to support decision-making.
- Document findings, processes, and recommendations for future implementation.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Student in the final semesters of a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Skills
- Technical Expertise: Basic understanding of materials and manufacturing processes.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to interpret data and propose practical solutions.
- Research Skills: Capable of conducting technical and market research.
- Interpersonal and Collaboration Skills: Comfortable working in cross-functional teams.
- Project Management Skills: Organized and able to manage tasks and timelines.
- Technical Tools: Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint; basic knowledge of C# or other programming languages and SQL is a plus.
