Logistics Operation Coordinator

Overall Position Purpose
The logistics operation coordinator for Mexico operations is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of national and international shipping, warehousing, and compliance activities within Mexico. This role ensures efficient logistics operations aligned with regulatory requirements, including OEA Certification, IMMEX, IVA, and SAT compliance. The logistic operation coordinator will lead a team, foster continuous improvement, and collaborate cross-functionally to support business goals using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and other logistics tools.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Transportation
- Manage domestic and international shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to optimize transportation routes and costs.
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and documentation requirements.
Warehousing & Inventory
- Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, storage, inventory control, and distribution.
- Implement best practices in warehouse layout, safety, and inventory accuracy.
- Monitor KPIs to ensure operational efficiency and service level targets.
Compliance & Certifications
- Maintain and ensure compliance with OEA Certification, IMMEX Program, IVA (Value Added Tax), and SAT (Servicio de Administración Tributaria) regulations.
- Liaise with government agencies and internal stakeholders to ensure regulatory adherence.
- Prepare and submit required documentation and reports for audits and inspections.
Systems & Technology
- Utilize Microsoft Dynamics 365 for logistics planning, inventory management, and reporting.
- Drive digital transformation and automation initiatives within logistics operations.
- Ensure data integrity and system optimization for logistics processes
- Act as D365/RF Smart Super User to support all Mexico Facilities and Compton on all Shipping and Receiving system activities
Health & Safety
- Promote and enforce health and safety standards across logistics and warehouse operations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for staff.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
Staff Management & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing logistics team.
- Conduct performance reviews, set objectives, and provide ongoing coaching.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
2 - 5 years of experience
Knowledge of the area of Logistics and management of the IMMEX program.
- Knowledge of Latin American logistics.
Control and management of inventories in finished products (operations, transactions, variations)
Bilingual proficiency is a key requirement for this position, as it involves regular interaction with the Distribution Center in the United States and participation in corporate projects. Therefore, the candidate must demonstrate an acceptable level of English proficiency as part of their overall performance.
